Description
CCCP Aviation Gurevich Automatic Blue Limited Edition
The Cold War era heralded a new reign of achievement as the best of the Soviet military machine went toe to toe technologically against the Natostyle bloc. Cutting edge aircraft helped develop a blanket of air cover and Soviet built planes were exported across the world to allies. Mikhail Gurevich (1893-1976) is best known as cofounder of the Mikoyan-Gurevich military aviation bureau along with Artem Mikoyan. Aircrafts built by the bureau, prefixed by the letters MiG – would become synonymous with Soviet military aviation with fighters from the MiG-1 in 1940 through to the cutting edge MiG-25, which was the last aircraft that Gurevich personally worked on prior to his retirement. The MiG-21 in particular became the most produced supersonic aircraft in aviation history being deployed by many air forces around the world – a testament to its qualities, robustness and adaptability.
