The Amalfi series celebrates the glorious Amalfi coast along the southern edge of Italy’s Sorrentine Peninsula. As if magically suspended between the blue sky and iridescent seas of the Mediterranean, the Amalfi is an indisputably arena of nautical beauty.
The Amalfi Diver Automatic pays homage to its namesake with the spirit of Italian watchmaking design. A 46mm diameter case features an intriguing dual layer anodized dual color bezel which calibrates time elapsed measurements with satisfying precision. The features a robust yet wearable construction aided by a crown guard and carefully chamfered lugs for some extra subtle finesse in workmanship.
A simple solid 3 link stainless steel bracelet flows effortlessly across the watch to create a masculine yet not overpowered presence on the wrist. With a safety lock and solid deployant mechanism the watch is a secure fit in all conditions. As a diver’s watch the bracelet is fitted with a divers extension attachment in case of wear outside a wet suit is needed.
The dial is influenced by strong geometric shapes that serve the watch perfectly. Rectangular and trapezoid shaped luminous indexes feature high intensity C3 Swiss Super-LumiNova and are marked out by similarly luminous bold arrow handed hour and minute markers for an altogether striking yet unfussy utilitarian design.
The Seiko NH Series Hacking automatic movement display the time dependably and precisely with a date display at the 3 o’clock at the dial and thanks to some nifty engineering the inner mechanics of the movement are visible via the exhibition caseback.
