Description
Vostok-Europe SSN-571 Chrono Submarine Black Orange Limited Edition
Vostok-Europe is the official watch of the SSN-571 Submarine Alumni Association. The 571 is the hull number of the world’s first nuclear powered submarine and the first submarine to complete a submerged transit of the North Pole on August 3, 1958. The watch was designed and executed in cooperation with the Alumni members and is also intended to honor all veterans of the US Submarine Service. This striking new line is based on the style known and “Atomic Punk” to capture the spirit of the era and the connection to the use of nuclear power. The second watch to utilize stand-up tritium tubes, this constant illumination technology is an essential element to the watches design. All watches in this collection are true, professional-grade dive watches as they are 200 meter water resistant or more and have a uni-directional rotating bezel. The case design is unlike any other Vostok-Europe to come before. It has a rugged look with a multi-level dial and aggressive lugs befitting the watch’s inspiration. The caseback is a 3D relief of an early prototype of the 571 and honors the veterans of the submarine service. This is truly a “must-own” watch from Vostok-Europe. The watch comes with two straps — leather and silicon — and comes in Pelican dry box.
