AVI-8 Lancaster Bomber Chrono Gunmetal Blue
The Lancaster Bomber Chronograph is an unabashedly aviation-inspired timepiece that takes design cues from the iconic Lancaster Bomber. The case is made of marine-grade 316L stainless steel. The supple premium leather strap is cross-stitched to endure the rigors of pilot usage. From top to bottom, the Lancaster Bomber Chronograph is built with quality and endurance in mind.
The connection between pilot and plane gave way to a popular art movement which illuminated wartime history. The ‘Sugars Blue’ art on the Lancaster Bomber Chronograph is based on the popular Varga pin-up girl who was featured in the January 1945 edition of Esquire magazine. The plane in question was that of Lancaster Bomber KB-864 of the 428th Squadron Royal Canadian Air Force. The aircraft markings were NA-S and the aircraft was referred to as ‘S’ for Sugar. Sugar Blues was a popular wartime dance tune.
